With the clarification of inflation figures, the salary increase rate for civil servants and civil servant retirees became 49.25 percent, while the monthly increase rate for workers and Bağ-Kur retirees became 37.57 percent.

According to the report by the pro-government newspaper Sabah, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security has conducted a study with alternatives to provide a welfare share to SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees. The study will be presented to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

The report stated that the economic management is working on providing a welfare share to retirees, taking into account budget possibilities and the anti-inflation program.

APPROXIMATELY 12 PERCENTAGE POINT RAISE DIFFERENCE

While the raise difference between retirees has come to the agenda in past years, it usually remained at the level of 1-2 points. Today, there is an 11.68 percentage point raise difference between Emekli Sandığı retirees and SSK, Bağ-Kur retirees.

Last year, with a similar formula, a 30 percent raise was given to all segments. The lowest salary was equalized and a welfare share was applied.

A legal regulation will also be made to increase the lowest pension, which was raised to 7,500 liras in July. The lowest pension is expected to exceed 10,000 liras.

2 FORMULAS ON THE TABLE

The regulation regarding the increase of the lowest pension will also come to the agenda of the Parliament, which will begin working on January 16.

It is stated that there are 2 regulations on the table, namely the base pension raise and the lowest pension, and that a welfare share or a flat-rate raise regulation could also be implemented.

On the other hand, while the pension raises announced according to TUIK's calculations disappointed millions of people, Turkey has this time placed last among European countries with the 7,500 lira salary deemed appropriate for retirees. Turkey ranked last among 27 countries with a salary of 230 Euros, which corresponds to the lowest pension of 7,500 liras.
