Production decline continues in the construction sector

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data shows that construction production continued its downward trend in March. While construction production declined by 2.5 percent on a monthly basis, the annual increase was recorded at 10.5 percent.

In March 2025, the building construction sector index fell by 3.2 percent compared to the previous month. The civil engineering sector index decreased by 0.5 percent, and the specialized construction activities sector index fell by 1.2 percent.

On an annual basis, the building construction sector index increased by 12.9 percent. The civil engineering sector index rose by 5.8 percent, while the specialized construction activities sector index increased by 6.0 percent. Construction production, which reached an eight-month high with a 15.5 percent annual increase in January, lost this momentum in March.
