According to data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, the product with the highest price increase in March was green beans, with a rise of 60.36 percent. While the prices of 208 out of a total of 336 main products increased, there was a decrease in the prices of 52 products. The product that saw the most significant price decline throughout the month was airline tickets.

GREEN BEANS, EGGPLANT, AND ZUCCHINI AT THE TOP

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the products with the highest retail price increases and decreases in March, along with their rates of change. When examining the 336 main products in the index, an increase was observed in the prices of 208 products, while the prices of 52 products declined.

In March, the highest price increase was seen in green beans at 60.36 percent, followed by eggplant at 43.88 percent, zucchini at 41.93 percent, bell peppers at 41.73 percent, and intercity bus tickets at 34.58 percent.

Other products with the highest price increases included men's haircuts at 25.23 percent, lemons at 24.96 percent, tomatoes at 21.92 percent, cauliflower at 19.64 percent, garlic at 19.06 percent, bananas at 17.25 percent, and onions at 16.11 percent.

Additionally, last month, the price of hot peppers increased by 12.17 percent, daily car rental fees by 11.3 percent, cologne by 9.65 percent, green onions by 8.79 percent, ice cream by 8.55 percent, and potatoes by 8.42 percent.

AIRLINE TICKET PRICES DECREASED

In March, the product with the largest price drop compared to the previous month was airline tickets, with a decrease of 26.03 percent. It was followed by porcelain household goods at 14.19 percent, curly lettuce at 7.98 percent, and olive oil at 2.89 percent.

Furthermore, the price of dining room sets decreased by 2.19 percent, fish by 2.18 percent, deodorant by 1.75 percent, peanuts by 1.23 percent, chili flakes by 0.91 percent, and instant soups by 0.39 percent.
