Proposal for pension increase in Parliament

A legislative proposal including an increase in pensions and the continuation of minimum wage support for employers is being discussed in Parliament. According to the proposal, the lowest pension will be raised to 14,469 liras, while the minimum wage support to be provided to employers for 2025 will be 1,000 liras.

Discussions on the legislative proposal containing regulations regarding pensions are continuing in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly. According to the proposal, which was prepared by AKP deputies and consists of 9 articles in total, the lowest pension, which was set at 12,500 liras for 2024, will be increased by 15.75 percent to 14,469 liras.

The proposal also envisions the continuation of the minimum wage support provided to employers in 2025. This support, which has been maintained since 2016, is set at 1,000 liras with the new regulation, and the stated goals include encouraging registered employment and protecting job security.

The legislative proposal is expected to be accepted and enter into force in the TBMM General Assembly.
