Pullback in gram gold following historic record

As of 06:25 TSI on January 30, 2026, gram gold was trading at 7,270 TL, marking a significant decline following yesterday's peak of 7,811 TL. This drop in gram gold exceeded 500 TL, while gold per ounce also suffered a serious loss. Gold per ounce fell from 5,602 dollars to 5,200 dollars, showing a loss of momentum throughout the day. It had closed the previous day at 5,370 dollars.

GRAM GOLD SHOWED RETREAT AFTER RECORD

Gram gold, which hit a record of 7,811 TL in the spot market, closed at 7,497 TL. Today, having retreated to 7,270 TL, gram gold has recorded a decline of over 500 TL from its peak level.

GRAND BAZAAR PRICES HAVE STARTED TO FALL

In the Grand Bazaar, the selling price of physical gram gold was set at 7,720 TL in the morning hours, while the selling price of quarter gold was 12,585 TL.

FED ANNOUNCEMENTS ARE AWAITED

US President Trump is expected to announce the new FED chair today. It is known that Trump advocates for interest rate cuts, and it is anticipated in the markets that the selection of a "more dovish candidate" could increase expectations for rate cuts. In such a scenario, gold prices could be expected to rise further.

The ongoing US-Iran tension and developments on the Russia-Ukraine front are closely affecting the markets. Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff stated that significant progress has been made in the negotiations and that an agreement could be reached soon. Russia's positive response to the US demand to stop attacks on Kyiv and its surroundings was welcomed by the markets. These developments led to a weakening in safe-haven demand due to the reduction in geopolitical risks.

MAJOR DROP IN SILVER

Silver closed at 115.55 dollars after hitting a record of 121.65 dollars. Today, as of 06:25 TSI on January 30, 2026, silver fell to 110 dollars, bringing its daily loss to a level close to 5 percent.
