The gram price of gold is at the 1,850 lira level with a 0.2 percent increase as of 09:30, following its rise at the start of the new day. As of the same minutes, quarter gold is being sold at 3,040 liras and Republic gold at 12,420 liras.
The ounce price of gold, which has carried its downward trend into the fourth consecutive trading day, is finding buyers at 1,978 dollars, just below its previous close.
Analysts stated that signals from macroeconomic data in the US show that inflation continues to slow down, and expressed that the final interest rate decision of the year to be announced today by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) and the statements to be made by Fed Chair Jerome Powell after the meeting will be influential on asset prices.
Before the interest rate decision, pricing in money markets indicates a 45 percent probability that the Fed will start interest rate cuts in March, and a 75 percent probability that it will start in May.
Stating that it is considered certain that the Fed will keep the policy rate constant in the 5.25-5.50 percent range for the third consecutive time at the last meeting of the year, analysts said that clues regarding the bank's future monetary policy will be sought in Fed Chair Jerome Powell's forward guidance.
Analysts reported that retail sales domestically, and industrial production and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the UK, industrial production in the Eurozone, and the Producer Price Index (PPI) data in the US, in addition to the Fed's interest rate decision and Powell's statements, will be monitored today, and noted that technically, the 2,000 and 2,010 dollar levels are in the resistance position for the ounce price of gold, while 1,970 and 1,950 dollars are in the support position.
