HAK-İŞ President Mahmut Arslan made harsh criticisms regarding the structure of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which has remained unchanged for years. In his statement at the 4th Ordinary General Assembly of the Öz Sağlık-İş Union, Arslan said, "We have been objecting to the structure of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission for 50 years."

Arslan stated that the current order in the Minimum Wage Determination Commission does not provide workers with sufficient representation. Saying, "As long as the structure of the commission does not change, we support the decision of the worker segment not to participate," Arslan emphasized that if the law is not changed at the meeting to be held in December, wages will continue to be determined by majority vote, which he described as an "imposition."

WILL IT BE LEFT TO THE HEGEMONY OF TİSK?

Stating that the influence of worker representatives should be increased in the process of determining the minimum wage, Arslan asked, "Are we going to leave the determination of the wage entirely to TİSK?" and advocated for the creation of a more democratic and pluralistic system. Arslan expressed that a fair wage cannot be determined with the current structure.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT THE SYSTEM THAT ENSLAVES THE WORKER WITH THEIR WAGE

Öz Sağlık-İş Union President Devlet Sert also criticized this system in his speech at the same meeting, stating that the minimum wage has turned into a system that enslaves the worker. Sert said, "We are against this system, which has become an average wage and enslaves the worker with their wage."
