In recent years, the volatile course of the economy has caused prices to rise in many areas, particularly in the real estate and automotive sectors. The real estate sector, which peaked due to high demand in previous years, is now longing for its former days as demand has fallen. While data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on an annual basis shows a decline in housing sales, this situation has also pushed sectoral investors into indecision. Making statements on the subject, Real Estate Expert Şule Duman expressed that the decline in prices is an opportunity that should be evaluated. Stating that holiday regions and large cities, in particular, offer great opportunities for investment, Duman said, "Real estate prices, which had inflated like a bubble beyond expectations, first stalled and then began to fall as demand decreased. Prices have reached a very good level for those who want to invest. The decline in major cities has also been reflected in holiday regions. Therefore, it is the perfect time to buy a home and invest."
"INVESTORS SHOULD ACT QUICKLY"
Real Estate Expert Şule Duman provided detailed information about the current state of prices in the real estate sector. Stating that new housing construction decreased significantly during the pandemic period and that prices rose because existing housing could not meet demand, Duman said that the situation has now reversed. Noting that housing prices have fallen more than expected, Duman said,
We were expecting that prices, which had inflated like a bubble, would eventually become cheaper; finally, what we expected has happened, and very good opportunities have emerged for those who want to invest. Especially the fact that housing in holiday regions has become cheaper has become attractive to those who want to invest. While housing prices were rising in previous years, construction materials and labor costs were also increasing. The tightness in the sector has made housing cheaper than its cost. Building a new home and buying a ready-made one now cost almost the same. The new Urban Transformation Law also has an effect on this price drop, of course, but we see that the decline in major cities is also being followed by holiday regions. In other words, it is the right time to invest. Since it is predicted that prices will rise again in the coming period, I would like to point out to investors that they should act quickly," she said.
