EMRA has abolished the price difference for differentiated products at stations. I
n stations, terms such as "VMax," "power," "ultra," and "fuel-save" used for gasoline will be replaced by gasoline, diesel, and LPG.
EMRA has prepared a "Draft Board Decision on Amending the Board Decision Regarding Differentiated Fuels" in order to re-evaluate the issues regarding the price difference application for differentiated fuels.
The draft is planned to enter into force on April 30, 2024.
THEY WERE SOLD AT A HIGHER PRICE
According to a report by Sabah newspaper; 95-octane gasoline and diesel were being sold at fuel stations with price premiums under labels such as "Ultra Force," "Power," "fuelsave," "VMax," and "VPro." These fuels were priced higher than standard fuel based on claims that they provide fuel economy, clean the engine, and add extra performance to the vehicle.
