In a statement made to KAP by Ford Otosan, it was reported that a strike decision has been taken by the union during the collective bargaining process between the Turkish Employers' Association of Metal Industries (MESS) and the Turkish Metal Union.

In the Ford statement, it was reported that the implementation date of the strike decision would be determined later. On the other hand, Türk Traktör made a similar statement.

Following the failure to reach an agreement in the collective bargaining process conducted between the Turkish Metal Union and the Turkish Employers' Association of Metal Industries (MESS), the Turkish Metal Union has taken a strike decision. The negotiations are being held for approximately 150 thousand metal workers.

Following the declaration of a dispute, MESS had increased its offer to 50 percent in the 6th session held on December 29, 2023, and to 60 percent in the 7th session held on January 5, 2024. However, these offers were not accepted by the Turkish Metal Union.
