Reserve requirement ratios changed: New move from the CBRT
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has changed the reserve requirement ratios applied to Turkish lira deposit accounts and the reserve requirement ratio that must be maintained in Turkish lira for foreign currency (FX) deposits.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has taken another step to support macro-financial stability and the monetary transmission mechanism.
According to the latest decision, the ratio for short-term TL deposits has been increased from 12 percent to 15 percent, and the ratio for long-term TL deposits has been increased from 8 percent to 10 percent, while the TL maintenance ratio for FX deposits has been reduced from 8 percent to 5 percent. Reserve requirements will be maintained on September 27, 2024.
The condition of the TL transition ratio has been removed from the interest application on reserve requirements that must be maintained for TL deposits.
The maximum commission rate applied based on the level of the TL transition ratio has been increased from 5 percent to 8 percent.
