Revenue Administration announces: Will there be fees for electronic transactions?

The Revenue Administration (GİB) has announced that transactions performed by taxpayers and financial advisors through electronic applications—such as tax identification number inquiries, obtaining tax plates, submitting tax returns, and requesting "no tax debt" certificates—will continue to be free of charge.

The GİB stated that claims regarding fees published in some media outlets and on social media regarding this matter are untrue.

In the statement made by the GİB, it was said, "Claims that fees will be charged for 'no tax debt' certificates, which taxpayers currently receive for free, and that fees will be demanded for transactions performed by taxpayers and financial advisors through electronic systems such as the Digital Tax Office and e-Government applications, are unfounded."

The statement noted that, within the framework of the Tax Procedure Law, a participation fee may only be collected for information sharing conducted in an electronic environment with public institutions and legal entities other than public administrations within the scope of general government. However, it was emphasized that there is no question of charging fees for data sharing with natural persons.

Furthermore, the statement expressed that institutions such as banks and financial organizations, electronic commerce intermediary service providers, and electricity and natural gas distribution companies may develop electronic infrastructure to share information, and participation fees may be collected for these services. However, no fees will be charged for the daily transactions of taxpayers and financial advisors.

Finally, the GİB stated that the claims appearing in some news reports do not reflect the truth and announced that information obtained from the Digital Tax Office and other electronic applications will continue to be provided free of charge.
