Securities Research Specialist Ceyhun Yavaş has predicted that gold prices will rise in 2024. Yavaş highlighted that central banks have not made a quick start to interest rate cuts and that this situation is causing an increase in volatility, stating that gold could find value around $2,200. He also noted that in a climate where inflationary risks and soft landing scenarios become clearer, gold could test the $2,400 level with a healthier rise.

Yavaş estimated that in Turkey, the effect of a possible rise in exchange rates, coupled with the CBRT's reserve accumulation policy, could be felt and that the 2,400 TL level could be seen in gram gold. He noted that with the elections behind us, gram gold could reach the 2,700 TL level.

Furthermore, Yavaş stated that despite the expected increase in volatility in indices in 2024, it is possible to achieve returns above inflation in a year where choosing the right sectors and stocks is important. He said that a portfolio allocation of between 40-60 percent could be created with a moderate risk perception. In this allocation, 40 percent could consist of safe assets such as deposit interest, private sector bonds, and gold. He emphasized that investments in stock markets could be considered for the remaining 60 percent.
