Civil servants and retirees across Turkey are focused on the December inflation figures to be announced on Monday, January 5, at 10:00 AM. Following the announcement of the data, the raise rates for the first half of 2026 for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees affiliated with the Social Security Institution (SGK) and civil servants will be finalized.

Evaluating current developments in a live broadcast, SGK Expert Murat Göktaş shared his expectations regarding salary increases. Pointing out that reflecting inflation rates in salaries is mandatory under legal regulations, Göktaş stated that the minimum level for raise rates will be determined on January 5.

Göktaş stated that with the inflation to be announced in December, a 12.28 percent increase is projected for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees. According to the expert's view, although the expectation for an additional raise (flat-rate raise) is low during this period, an adjustment to the lowest monthly pension amount is on the agenda.

The meeting to be held by the Economic Coordination Board on Monday will also be decisive regarding the most important question on retirees' minds: "How much will the lowest pension be?" Göktaş made the following statements on the subject:

"It has now become a procedure to increase the lowest pension in line with the SSK and Bağ-Kur raise rates. I anticipate that this adjustment will be made. If the expected rates are reflected, the lowest pension will be around 18,970 TL."

With the announcement of the final figures regarding the salary raise, both retirees and civil servants will reach their new income levels. The data on January 5 will hold an important place in the economic outlook for the first half of 2026.
