Risk appetite increased in global markets following positive statements regarding relations between the US and Iran, and Borsa İstanbul started the day with a rise and maintained its positive trend.
The index on Borsa İstanbul rose by 168.57 points at the opening, an increase of 1.23 percent, reaching the 13,912.07 point level.
INTRADAY RISE EXCEEDED 2.20 PERCENT
During trading hours, the daily rise on Borsa İstanbul exceeded the 2.20 percent level. It was observed that buying in the markets was concentrated in banking stocks.
RISE IN BANKING AND HOLDING INDICES
The banking index gained 2.69 percent during the day, while the holding index recorded a 1.36 percent rise.
The fact that the increase in the banking sector exceeded the 6 percent level was a determining factor in the overall rise of the index.
In global markets, a positive outlook emerged following US President Donald Trump's statements that a deal with Iran could be completed within a few days.
