According to the latest survey conducted by Reuters with 39 analysts and traders, as investors' search for a safe haven continues unabated, 2026 could be remembered as the "golden age of gold."

Experts forecast an average gold price per ounce of 3,400 dollars for 2025. Expectations for 2026 are even stronger, with the average price forecast rising to as high as 4,275 dollars.

The upward revision of the 2025 forecast, which was announced as 3,220 dollars in July, shows that investor interest in gold has peaked once again. The expectation for 2026 has also surpassed the 3,400-dollar projection from three months ago.

THE STRONGEST PERIOD SINCE THE 1979 OIL CRISIS

This year, gold prices exceeded the 4,000 dollars/ounce threshold, recording a record increase of 54 percent. Experts interpret this rise as the precious metal's strongest performance since the 1979 oil crisis.

Gold, which has been trading at an average of 3,281 dollars since the beginning of the year, maintains its strong position due to increased purchases by central banks, escalating geopolitical tensions, and uncertainties regarding interest rate policies.

GoldCore Strategy Director David Russell evaluated the rise as follows:

“Gold's 2025 performance is more than a rally; it signifies the acceptance of a new economic reality. Markets are no longer reacting to short-term shocks, but to a deep loss of confidence in monetary policies, currencies, and the financial system.”

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS FOR SILVER?

The survey results are also promising for silver. According to experts, the average price of silver will rise to 38.45 dollars in 2025 and 50 dollars in 2026.
