Recently, silver prices reached a new record of 51.73 dollars due to activity in the gold market and liquidity constraints. In the spot market, silver continues to trade at levels around 51.41 dollars and has gained more than 77 percent in value this year.
Goldman Sachs projects that silver prices could rise in the medium term due to interest from private investors. However, it notes that there is more volatility and downside risk in the short term compared to gold.
This rise in silver prices occurred under the influence of expectations for Fed interest rate cuts and economic uncertainties stemming from trade tariffs. Last week, silver drew attention by surpassing the 50-dollar level for the first time.
In the markets, there is a high probability of a 25 basis point interest rate cut in October and a similar cut in December.
