Social Security Institution (SGK) expert Özgür Erdursun made statements regarding the salary increases to be implemented in July and the ongoing early election debates.

Stating that he does not expect any additional improvement in salaries in the July period beyond the inflation adjustment, Erdursun expressed his belief that an election could be held in 2027.

HE ANNOUNCED HIS EXPECTATION REGARDING THE JULY RAISE

Stating that the lack of an arrangement in salaries in July other than the inflation adjustment could lead to disappointment in society, Erdursun expressed that he does not expect a step in this direction from the government in the short term.

Erdursun stated that he anticipates an increase only in line with the inflation rate to be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), and reminded that the Ministry of Treasury and Finance has denied claims of additional raises.

LOWEST PENSION ESTIMATE

Making assessments regarding the lowest pension, Erdursun said, "The lowest completed pension will be around 23 thousand 600 TL. That figure might perhaps be rounded up to 24 thousand or 25 thousand liras. However, other than that, I do not expect an extra improvement beyond the inflation adjustment."

EARLY ELECTION AND ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT COMMENTARY

Touching upon economic management and possible election scenarios in his statements, Erdursun said he does not think the government will go to the election with Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek.

Stating that Mehmet Şimşek remains committed to the targets aimed at reducing inflation, Erdursun noted that the current economic program might not be compatible with policies that could be implemented during election periods.

"I THINK THERE WILL BE AN ELECTION IN 2027"

At the end of his assessment, Erdursun used the following expressions:

"Minister of Treasury and Finance Mr. Mehmet Şimşek says that there are targets they have set to reduce inflation and that possible policies to be implemented during election periods would damage this program. So, what will happen if the government does not meet these expectations during the election period? For this reason, I think the government will not go to the election with Mr. Mehmet Şimşek and that there will be an election in 2027."
