AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the additional raise rate expected by millions of retirees as 5 percent.

Declaring 2024 as the 'Year of Retirees,' Erdoğan also announced that the lowest pension has been increased from 7,500 TL to 10,000 TL.

ADDITIONAL RAISE CLAIM FOR RETIREES FROM ÖZGÜR ERDURSUN BEFORE THE ELECTIONS

While millions of retirees, who have been condemned to a starvation wage, were disappointed, Social Security Expert Özgür Erdursun claimed that the government could provide an additional raise to retirees before the local elections.

Speaking to Kamu Son Haber, Erdursun stated that millions of retirees were not affected by the regulation made, and conveyed that the reaction of retirees is significant.

HE GAVE A FIGURE

Stating that the government will evaluate the flat-rate raise plan based on the reaction of retirees, Erdursun said, "They could make a raise of around 4,000 TL. They could also reflect this on the lowest pensions along with a flat-rate raise."

ADDITIONAL RAISE DIFFERENCE TO BE PAID WITHIN 1 WEEK

On the other hand, the regulation to increase the 42.57 percent additional raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees to 49.25 percent, in order to close the gap with the raise rate given to civil servant retirees, has passed through Parliament. According to the statement made, the differences resulting from the additional raise in pensions will be paid within 1 week after the regulation is published in the Official Gazette.
