Celal Kadooğlu, President of the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters' Association, stated that the Southeastern Anatolia Region stands out not only for its local desserts but also for its businesses operating in the field of biscuits, cakes, and sugary and cocoa products, and reported that they are pleased with the increase in the production of sugar beets, one of the most essential raw materials.

In the statement made by the Association, Kadooğlu's views were included, drawing attention to the decline in global sugar stocks and expressing that they view the increase in sugar beet cultivation areas in Turkey positively.
Pointing out that the world is facing some difficulties in sugar beet production, Kadooğlu stated, "When we consider that the annual return of biscuit, cake, and sugary and cocoa product exports to Turkey is expected to exceed 3.5 billion dollars by the end of the year, it can be seen how important sugar as a raw material is in our food exports."
Kadooğlu noted that global sugar prices have been at a high level for some time and explained that sugar is in high demand regardless of its price because its areas of use are becoming widespread.
"We had a good harvest in Turkey this year"
Celal Kadooğlu stated that the countries that export the most sugar in the world have experienced climate-related problems in their sugar production this year and used the following expressions:
"We hear that the products in India, the largest sugar producer, did not develop sufficiently because it spent the summer with drought problems. Problems related to El Niño continue in Thailand as well. In Brazil, another sugar giant, sugar prices have stabilized for a while due to increased production, but we estimate that if oil prices rise again next year, this situation will increase the demand for sugar for ethanol production."
Reporting that farmers' interest in sugar beets in Turkey was high this year, Kadooğlu noted that they had a good harvest this year in Turkey, one of the world's largest sugar beet producers.
Kadooğlu made the following assessments:
"When our farmers feel that the product they produce is valued, they embrace that product with more desire the following year. Our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, especially our Sugar Department, guides our farmers on this issue. The Southeastern Anatolia Region is a region known for its businesses operating in the field of biscuits, cakes, and sugary and cocoa products as much as its local desserts. We are pleased with the increase in the production of sugar beets, which is one of our most basic raw materials."
