Speaking to SZCTV, SSI Expert İsmail Sevinç stated that prospective retirees often wonder, 'Can I increase my pension, what can I do?' and made the following remarks:

"The most fundamental thing here is having high wages. They cannot do much about that. If your premium-based earnings are high, you will receive a high pension.

The number of days is effective, but not very effective. Focus on increasing your wages, not your days. There are borrowing periods.

Does borrowing increase the pension? We borrow when our days are insufficient. For example, women give birth, do not work after birth, and borrow because they are not working.

For instance, you started working in 1997, and you gave birth or went to military service in 1998. The period you can borrow is 18 months...

Under normal conditions, you have the opportunity to apply for retirement today, and a monthly pension of 17 thousand liras is normally paid.

If you borrow at the minimum rate, you pay 115 thousand TL, and your pension might increase by 900 TL.

The advantage here is that if you borrow at the ceiling rate, you pay 195 thousand TL and receive 1850 TL more per month. In other words, you get the money you paid back in 10 years.

For borrowing after 2000, the ceiling price reaches 749 thousand TL, and its reflection on the salary helps with an increase of 3 thousand TL"

Stating that he only recommends this for the period before 2000, Sevinç concluded his remarks as follows:

"I recommend this for the period before 2000. It amortizes in over 20 years. Everyone will evaluate their own financial structure"
