AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has returned to Turkey following his visit to the United Arab Emirates.

Responding to journalists' questions on the plane, Erdoğan made statements regarding the current agenda.

MINIMUM WAGE STATEMENT

Erdoğan gave the following response to a question regarding the minimum wage hike, which concerns millions of employees;

“Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan is currently working on the minimum wage. Once he has finalized these efforts, he will present the final picture to us. Because he will bring us the result after finishing his meetings with worker and employer representatives. We will listen to him as well. After that, we will decide on the most appropriate minimum wage. The whole point is to reach a result without victimizing any of the parties.

“THIS MATTER ENDS WITH A ONE-TIME RAISE”

As you know, the minimum wage increase is already once a year. This matter ends with a one-time raise. The primary person responsible for this is our Minister of Labor, Vedat Işıkhan. We have not allowed our citizens to be crushed by inflation to date, and we will not allow it. Our economic management has taken steps to curb inflation on one hand, and these continue. The signs are positive; we will soon see that inflation is permanently curbed. We will also consign the inflation problem to history."
