Statement from Mehmet Şimşek regarding credit card installments! He pointed to the post-election period

Following the denial of claims that 'credit card installments have been abolished' by the Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) under the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek issued a statement pointing to the post-election period, saying, "Deliberate news is being circulated to create anxiety and distrust in the markets; please do not give credence to any news you have not heard from us."

The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) issued a statement denying claims that 'credit card installments have been abolished.'

The DMM statement included the following: "There is no regulation implemented by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance or relevant institutions regarding the abolition of installment practices for credit card usage. It has been determined that baseless and speculative statements that could disrupt the functioning of the market are being made based on incorrect information regarding credit cards. Please do not give credence to statements made outside of official institutions and authorities."

Following the DMM, a statement on the matter also came from Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek.

In a statement on his X (Twitter) account, Şimşek said, "Deliberate news is being circulated to create anxiety and distrust in the markets; please do not give credence to any news you have not heard from us."

Pointing to the post-election period, Şimşek noted the following:

"Deliberate news is being circulated to create anxiety and distrust in the markets.

We have clearly set out the policies we will implement in our Medium-Term Program.

Our rule-based and predictable policies will continue exactly as they are in the post-election period as well.

In this context, I request from our citizens; please do not give credence to any news you have not heard from us."
