"We held the Service Export Strategy Conference in our dynamic city of Sakarya, which stands out with its rich natural resources, historical and cultural heritage, developed industry, and fertile lands, together with the esteemed representatives of our business world.
Service exports have been recording rapid growth globally, especially in recent years, and hold a vital place in national economies in terms of the economic value they produce. The services sector, whose place in world trade is increasing day by day, today accounts for two-thirds of global output and 50% of employment. We are also working with all our might to move our country to the forefront of this race.
We intend to continue these same successes in 2024. With this momentum, we aim to reach our year-end target of 110 billion dollars in service exports and, through this, provide a significant contribution to closing the current account deficit. I would like to express my gratitude to our Service Exporters Association (HİB) and our HİB Chairman of the Board, Mr. Şekib Avdagiç, who are always with us on our journey to reach this goal. As the Ministry of Trade, we will continue to fulfill our responsibilities in every field to make our country's economy one of the largest in the world and to increase the welfare of our citizens."
