In a post shared on the X account of the Center for Combating Disinformation, it was stated, "Claims appearing in some media outlets such as 'The level of the dollar exchange rate in 15 days has been determined', 'The dollar will be 40 TL in 15 days', and 'The Central Bank's report has been leaked' are not true.

There is absolutely no report stating that the dollar will be 40 TL in 15 days. In the aforementioned baseless news, the Market Participants Survey, which the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye publishes every month, has been manipulatively subjected to disinformation."

The post noted that the CBRT asks market participants from the financial and real sectors about their expectations regarding key macroeconomic indicators every month and shares the results with the public, and it was recorded that characterizing this survey, which is shared with the public, as a "leaked document" reveals the manipulation.

The post continued, "Survey results only reflect the expectations of the participants and show monthly changes in market expectations.

The Market Participants Survey does not contain the Central Bank's institutional expectations and forecasts. In the March 2024 survey of the Market Participants Survey, published on March 15, 2024, the market participants' US Dollar exchange rate expectation for the end of March is 32.63 TL."

CMB AND CBRT TO FILE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT

The post, which announced that the Capital Markets Board (CMB) and the Central Bank will file a criminal complaint regarding the news in question under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK), titled "Publicly spreading misleading information" due to deliberate market-disrupting actions, emphasized that one should not give credence to false news that is clearly seen to have been served intentionally for manipulative purposes.
