Stock market closes the day with a decline

The BIST 100 index decreased by 9.79 points compared to the previous close, with a total trading volume of 103.3 billion liras.

While the banking index lost 0.31 percent in value, the holding index gained 0.14 percent.

Among the sector indices, the IT sector was the top gainer with 1.84 percent, while the sports sector was the top loser with 2.59 percent.

The BIST 100 index, which saw a record level of 10,325.68 points, stabilized in the 10,265-10,270 point band following profit-taking at this level.

In global markets, expectations that the US economy could achieve a "soft landing" have strengthened again after the non-farm payroll data released last week in the US fell below expectations, while the forward guidance to be provided by US Federal Reserve (Fed) officials throughout the week has become the focus of investors.

Analysts, stating that the domestic data agenda will be quiet tomorrow, while retail sales in the Eurozone and factory orders in Germany will stand out abroad, noted that technically, the 10,300 and 10,400 levels are resistance, and 10,200 and 10,100 points are support for the BIST 100 index.
