Stock market rises following inflation data: BIST 100 index surpasses 10,000 points

According to the data announced by TÜİK, monthly inflation in February was 2.27 percent. Annual inflation remained at 39.05 percent. These figures were welcomed positively as they remained below market expectations. Signals that inflation is being kept under control increased investors' risk appetite.
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul reached 10,026.80 points in the first half of the day with an increase of 3.81 percent. As of 13:00, the index had risen by 368.09 points compared to the previous close. The total trading volume was recorded at 75.6 billion liras. The banking index gained 8.3 percent, while the holding index gained 2.86 percent.
Among sector indices, the banking sector was the top gainer. The sector that lost the most was financial leasing and factoring, with a decline of 2.57 percent. Domestic markets displayed a positive performance despite the mixed trend in global markets.
APPROACHING THE RESISTANCE POINT
Analysts made assessments regarding the technical analysis of the BIST 100 index. It was stated that the 10,100 and 10,180 point levels are resistance, while the 9,900 and 9,800 point levels are support for the index. These levels were seen as important reference points for investors.
The BIST 100 index has approached the resistance point with the 10,026 level.
In global markets, while concerns regarding the US's protectionist trade policies continue, signals that inflationary pressures are easing have positively affected investors. This situation contributed to Borsa Istanbul displaying a stronger performance compared to global markets.
