Stock market starts the week with gains

The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul started the week with a 0.51 percent increase, reaching 7,667.85 points.

At the opening, the BIST 100 index gained 39.12 points, or 0.51 percent, compared to the previous close, rising to 7,667.85 points.

The banking index recorded a 1.60 percent increase, while the holding index rose by 0.66 percent. Among sector indices, the securities investment trust sector was the top gainer with 2.52 percent, while the only decliner was the chemical, petroleum, and plastic sector with a 1.65 percent drop.

On Friday, following a buying-weighted trend, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 7,628.73 points, marking a 1.07 percent gain.
