The purchasing power of the 200 TL has melted significantly during the same period. The 200 TL, which corresponded to approximately 125-130 dollars when it entered circulation in 2009, corresponds to around 4.18 dollars as of August 16, 2026, with the dollar/TL exchange rate at approximately 47.88.

The picture against gold is similar. With 200 TL, which could buy approximately 4.7-4.9 grams of gold at the beginning of 2009, approximately 0.03 grams of gold can be bought today. According to the calculation where a gram of gold is at the level of approximately 6 thousand 737 TL, approximately 34 200 TL banknotes are required for 1 gram of gold.
