Tax expert Ozan Bingöl calculates: How many of the 20 cigarettes in a pack are tax?

Tax expert Ozan Bingöl calculated the tax burden on a 50 lira pack of cigarettes following the price hikes on cigarettes over the last 2 days.

In a post on his X account, Bingöl stated the following:

"Today, the tax burden on a pack of cigarettes sold for 50 lira is approximately 80%. On average, 40 lira of a 50 lira pack of cigarettes is tax. The remaining 10 TL covers elements such as manufacturer costs, distribution expenses, and retailer profit. In other words, 16 of the 20 cigarettes in a pack are tax."
