Due to the European Commission's regulation that will come into effect as of July 7, 2024, optional safety measures and technologies are becoming mandatory for new vehicles.
In this context, technologies that increase safety and comfort, such as intelligent speed assistance, rearview cameras, rear parking sensors, and driver fatigue monitoring systems, will be mandatory in vehicles. Vehicles that cannot meet these requirements will not be permitted for sale.
As these conditions will also be valid in Turkey, price increases are expected across all vehicle prices.
HOW MUCH WILL THE INCREASE BE?
It is claimed that while the rate of increase will vary depending on the model and brand, the price hike could reach 10 percent.

All vehicles: Intelligent speed assistance, rearview camera and rear parking sensor, emergency stop signal, accident data recorder, driver fatigue detection system.
Cars and vans: Lane keeping assist and emergency braking assist.
Buses and trucks: Technologies for better detection of potential blind spots, collision prevention technology for pedestrians and cyclists, tire pressure monitoring system.
