Last week, the decision regarding the release of 5 lira coins into circulation was published in the Official Gazette.
The coins, which feature a plain serrated edge, have been determined to have a diameter of 28.15 millimeters, a thickness of 1.70 millimeters, and a weight of 8.25 grams. The obverse design of the coins was given depth by using an 8-pointed Seljuk star motif on the outer ring and repeating the outer contour of this motif.
Additionally, on the obverse, a crescent and star were placed at the junction of the ring and the center, with the "Century of Turkey" logo in the middle. To the left of the logo is the number 5, with the text "Turkish lira" below it, and the year of minting below that text.
The reverse design features a relief of the Founder of the Republic, Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with the text "Republic of Turkey" around it.
