The Official Gazette has published a decision to impose a 40 percent additional tax on all vehicles imported from China.
The 40 percent tax currently applied to electric cars will now also be applied to vehicles of all fuel types. Additionally, the regulation sets a minimum customs duty of 7 thousand dollars.
The additional customs duty application will be valid for all motor land vehicles, tractors, bicycles, motorcycles, and other land vehicles, as well as their parts, components, and accessories, listed under chapter 87 of the Customs Tariff Statistics Position (GTİP) list.
The application covers internal combustion engine vehicles, electric motor vehicles, and electric vehicle batteries, regardless of cylinder volume.
The decision, published as of June 8, will enter into force on the 30th day following its publication.
