The product with the highest price increase in Istanbul in October has been identified

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the products with the highest price increases and decreases in October, along with their rates of change. Accordingly, in Istanbul, the product with the highest price increase in October compared to the previous month was pointed pepper, while the product with the highest price decrease was lemon.

Of the 242 products included in the ITO's Wage Earners' Cost of Living Index for Istanbul, the retail prices of 147 increased, the prices of 18 products decreased, and the prices of 77 products remained unchanged.

PEPPER IS THE CHAMPION OF PRICE HIKES

In October, pointed pepper, which is in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of food expenditures, was the product with the highest price increase at 56.17 percent.

Some of the other products with price increases were women's sweaters from the women's clothing subgroup of clothing expenditures at 48.72 percent, zucchini from the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of food expenditures at 43.90 percent, cucumbers from the same group at 42.48 percent, men's coats from the men's clothing subgroup of clothing expenditures at 39.62 percent, women's blouses from the women's clothing subgroup at 38.07 percent, suits from the men's clothing subgroup at 37.75 percent, and men's overcoats from the same group at 37.32 percent.

PRODUCT WITH THE HIGHEST PRICE DECREASE IS LEMON

In October, lemons, which are in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of the food expenditures group, were the product with the highest price decrease at 10.46 percent.

Other products with price decreases were intercity bus tickets from the transportation and communication expenditures group at 7.32 percent, cabbage from the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of food expenditures at 7.20 percent, theater ticket prices from the culture, education, and entertainment expenditures group at 3.33 percent, and bottled water from the tobacco, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages subgroup of the food expenditures group at 2.27 percent.
