Third diesel price hike on the horizon: Price per liter to exceed 70 TL
Fuel users should prepare for a third price increase in the last week due to international developments. A new hike of 2-3 liras per liter of diesel is expected starting July 10.

Fluctuations in global markets and political tensions have led to consecutive price hikes in the fuel market. Sources close to the sector state that the price per liter of diesel will be increased by 2 to 3 TL, effective from the night of Friday, July 10, 2026. With this increase, the price of a liter of diesel will exceed 70 TL in major cities.
Rising geopolitical risks and the upward trend in Brent crude oil prices have triggered a new wave of fuel price hikes. During the NATO Summit held in Ankara, US President Donald Trump's statement that the ceasefire process with Iran is "over" caused supply concerns to grow in the market.
Following the statements, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil rose by 5 percent to over 78 dollars. Security risks in the Strait of Hormuz and air strikes carried out by Ukraine on refineries in Russia were also effective in this rise. All these developments have led to increased cost pressure on diesel production and supply chains.
CONSECUTIVE HIKES IN THE LAST WEEK
Increases in diesel prices have gained momentum in the last week. On July 8, two separate hikes were applied, first 1 lira and 33 kurus per liter, and then 76 kurus. Now, with the new hike planned to take effect on Friday, there will have been a total increase of over five liras.
The levels that the price per liter will reach in some provinces after the hike have also become clear. While the price per liter of diesel will rise to 69.88 TL on the European side of Istanbul, it will reach 69.73 TL on the Anatolian side. In the capital Ankara, this cost will climb to 71 TL, and in Izmir to 71.27 TL.
The increases in fuel prices show no signs of stopping, and experts warn that hikes may continue depending on new developments in international markets.
