Total number of visitors choosing Turkey reached 50 million 217 thousand in the first 10 months of the year

According to data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a total of 50 million 217 thousand 181 visitors were hosted in the first 10 months of 2023.

According to Ministry of Culture and Tourism data, foreign visits in October reached 4.99 million people, an annual increase of 3.8 percent.

In August and September, the increase in tourists compared to the same period last year was 5.7 percent.

While foreigners accounted for 44 million 200 thousand 79 of the visitors coming to Turkey in the January-October period, citizens residing abroad were included in the 10-month total visitor count with 6 million 17 thousand 102 people.

The number of foreigners who chose Turkey for their holidays in 10 months showed an increase of 11.58 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

MOST VISITORS FROM RUSSIA

In the ranking of countries sending the most visitors to Turkey in the January-October period, the Russian Federation took first place with an increase of 26.02 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, with 5 million 838 thousand 203 people.

Germany was second with an increase of 8.38 percent and 5 million 715 thousand 838 people, and England (United Kingdom) was third with an increase of 12.28 percent and 3 million 598 thousand 870 people. England was followed by Bulgaria and Iran.

GERMANY IN FIRST PLACE IN OCTOBER

The number of foreigners visiting Turkey in October increased by 3.83 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 4 million 987 thousand 112.

In the ranking of countries sending the most visitors in October, Germany took first place with 860 thousand 635 people, the Russian Federation was second with 672 thousand 198 people, and England (United Kingdom) was third with 441 thousand 449 people, compared to the same month of the previous year. England was followed by Bulgaria and Iran, respectively.
