Trade Minister Bolat to visit Egypt

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat will pay an official visit to Cairo on October 27-28, 2023, at the invitation of Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir Saleh.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Trade, a trade delegation consisting of leading businesspeople from our country, organized by the Ministry of Trade, will also participate in the Minister's visit to further develop commercial and economic relations between Turkey and Egypt.

The visit program, which includes 113 businesspeople, 10 of whom are NGO heads, alongside the Ministry of Trade delegation, aims to elevate commercial and economic relations between the Turkish and Egyptian business worlds to a higher level.

The following information was provided regarding the visit: "Within the scope of the visit, our Minister will come together with Turkish and Egyptian business circles at a roundtable meeting and will hold a bilateral meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. SALEH.

In the aforementioned meeting;

- A roadmap for increasing the Turkey-Egypt trade volume, which is currently around 10 billion dollars, to 15 billion dollars within 5 years,

- Developments recorded at the Technical Consultation Meeting and the 5th Joint Committee Meeting of the Free Trade Agreement held between Turkey and Egypt on October 24-25, 2023,

- The initiation of negotiations for the expansion and revision of the Turkey-Egypt Free Trade Agreement,

- The use of local currencies in bilateral trade,

- The establishment of a Ro-Ro line between Turkey and Egypt,

- Work permit and market access issues faced by our business circles in Egypt will be addressed.

Finally, our Minister will attend the opening of the "International Manufacturing Congress and Exhibition," which will be held for the second time this year under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Cairo on October 28, 2023, and will visit the B2B area where our companies will hold meetings with their Egyptian counterparts."
