Trade target between Turkey and the US: 35 billion dollars

Stating that the US has a national income of 28 trillion dollars, 3.2 trillion dollars in imports, and 2 trillion dollars in exports, with a foreign trade deficit reaching 1.2 trillion dollars, Minister of Trade Bolat shared important information regarding trade relations between Turkey and the US at the 15th Investment Conference held within the scope of the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York. Bolat said, “Our mutual trade was 33 billion dollars last year; we aim to exceed 35 billion dollars this year.”

The conference was attended by senior executives from 24 major American companies that have been making large investments in Turkey for many years, as well as Turkey's leading business people. Bolat stated, “We conveyed potential investments and economic data to the participants at the investment conference chaired by our President.”

Minister Bolat spoke about the experiences of investors coming to Turkey, using the expression, “Investors who have come to Turkey to date have not regretted it. President Erdoğan invited investors to Turkey.” Stating that they also held intensive meetings with Turkish non-governmental organizations in New York, Bolat announced that more forums and events would be organized on energy and industrial topics.

Furthermore, Bolat noted that in meetings with executives and members of Turkish non-governmental organizations in the US, they discussed Turkey's investment potential and investment incentives in detail. He also shared the information that Turkish and American energy companies will come together at a forum to be held tomorrow in the field of energy.

The Minister emphasized that, in addition to his busy schedule, attending President Erdoğan's speech at the UN General Assembly was an important opportunity.
