Treasury borrows 21.3 billion TL in two auctions

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance borrowed 21 billion 323.2 million liras through bond and bill auctions held today.

In the first auction, a 12-month (357-day) zero-coupon treasury bill was reissued. The simple interest rate in the auction was 49.21 percent, and the compound interest rate was 49.41 percent.

In the auction where nominal bids reached 8 billion 910 million liras, nominal sales amounted to 1 billion 757 million liras, and net sales were 1 billion 185.1 million liras.

In the auction where the entire 1 billion 500 million lira bid from the public sector was met, 596 million liras in bids were received from market makers, and 350 million liras were sold to this segment.

In the second auction, a 2-year (672-day) fixed-coupon government bond with 18.5 percent coupon payments every 6 months was reissued. The simple interest rate in the auction was 40.46 percent, and the compound interest rate was 44.55 percent.

In the auction where nominal bids reached 16 billion 18 million liras, nominal sales amounted to 11 billion 55 million liras, and net sales were 11 billion 178.1 million liras.

In the auction where the entire 5 billion 510 million lira bid from the public sector was met, 2 billion 576 million liras in bids were received from market makers, and 1 billion 600 million liras were sold to this segment.

Thus, the Treasury borrowed a total of 21 billion 323.2 million liras in the two auctions.
