Treasury borrows over 25 billion liras

Today, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance borrowed 25 billion 203.5 million liras through two bond auctions.

In the first auction, a 4-year (1435-day) government bond indexed to the Turkish Lira Overnight Reference Rate (TLREF) with quarterly coupon payments was reissued. The periodic interest rate in the auction was determined to be 10.66 percent.

In the first auction, while the nominal bid reached 29 billion 462 million liras, the nominal sale was 7 billion 170 million liras, and the net sale was 7 billion 319.5 million liras.

No bids were received from the public sector, but bids totaling 14 billion 987.2 million liras were received from market makers, and 6 billion liras were sold to this segment.

In the second auction, a 6-year (2303-day) floating-rate government bond with semi-annual coupon payments was reissued. The periodic interest rate in the auction was determined to be 20.79 percent.

In the second auction, while the nominal bid reached 15 billion 822 million liras, the nominal sale was 6 billion 165 million liras, and the net sale was 5 billion 884 million liras.

The entire 1 billion lira bid from the public sector was met, while bids totaling 9 billion 251 million liras were received from market makers, and 5 billion liras were sold to this segment.

As a result of these two auctions, the Treasury borrowed a total of 25 billion 203.5 million liras.
