Treasury Ministry responds to catering tender allegations

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance issued a statement following reports in some media outlets titled "Flour soup for retirees, gourmet ravioli for the Minister," stating that the allegations in question do not reflect the truth.

In the Ministry's statement, it was noted, "Within the framework of the Regulation on Food Assistance for Civil Servants, as in all public institutions, lunch assistance is provided to civil servants in our ministry as well. This assistance is covered partly by the general budget and partly by the personnel. The tender in question is a standard tender for the catering service provided."

"REPORTS ARE MALICIOUS"

The Ministry evaluated the expressions used in the report as misleading and considered the presentation of collaged images that do not belong to the Minister as a malicious approach. The statement said, "It is unacceptable to distort a standard practice of our Ministry and present it to the public. We will use our legal rights to the fullest extent regarding this matter."

LEGAL PROCESS BEGINS   

The Ministry emphasized that the tenders held regularly every year to meet the meal needs of public employees are conducted in line with the determined budgets. It was stated that legal proceedings will be initiated for the relevant reports and that the necessary steps will be taken to inform the public accurately.
