TÜİK announces: Milk and egg production on the decline
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has released milk and poultry production data for February 2025. While there was a decline in chicken egg production, a decrease in milk production during the same period also drew attention.

According to the released data, cow milk production decreased by 5.4 percent in February compared to the same period last year, with a total of 857 thousand 821 tons of milk collected. Cow milk production decreased by 1.5% in the January-February period.
Looking at sub-category products, drinking milk production decreased by 6 percent, yogurt production by 9.6 percent, and clarified butter (sade yağ) production by 16.1 percent. Ayran production increased by 6.9 percent, and butter production by 3.6 percent. In the January-February period, yogurt production fell by 6.2 percent and drinking milk production by 1.4 percent, while butter production increased by 9.5 percent.
DECLINE IN EGG PRODUCTION
In poultry production, chicken egg production was announced to have decreased by 10.8 percent in February compared to the same period last year, reaching 1.55 billion units. On the other hand, the number of slaughtered chickens increased by 5.8 percent, and chicken meat production increased by 8.2 percent.
Chicken egg production saw a 10.4 percent decline compared to the same period last year. In February, chicken meat production was reported as 218 thousand 260 tons, while there was an 8.8 percent increase in the number of slaughtered chickens.
