TÜİK announces: The best-performing investment vehicle in May has been revealed

When adjusted for the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the highest monthly real return in May was achieved by the BIST 100 index at 5.44 percent.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the "real return rates of financial investment vehicles" for May. 

Accordingly, the highest real return in May was achieved by the BIST 100 index, at 6.89 percent when adjusted for the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) and 5.44 percent when adjusted for the CPI.

FOREIGN CURRENCY AND GOLD RESULTED IN LOSSES

When adjusted for the D-PPI, deposit interest (gross) provided a real return of 1.19 percent, and Government Domestic Debt Securities (GDDS) provided a real return of 0.38 percent. 

The Euro resulted in a loss of 1.44 percent, the Dollar in a loss of 2.25 percent, and bullion gold in a loss of 3.72 percent.

When adjusted for the CPI, deposit interest (gross) caused a loss of 0.19 percent, GDDS 0.99 percent, the Euro 2.79 percent, the Dollar 3.58 percent, and bullion gold 5.03 percent for investors.

In the three-month assessment, bullion gold was the investment vehicle that provided the highest real return to its investors, at 8.75 percent when adjusted for the D-PPI and 7.84 percent when adjusted for the CPI. During the same period, GDDS was recorded as the investment that caused the most loss for its investors, at 5.42 percent when adjusted for the D-PPI and 6.21 percent when adjusted for the CPI.

According to the six-month assessment, the BIST 100 index was the investment vehicle that provided the highest real return to its investors, at 11.70 percent when adjusted for the D-PPI and 5.43 percent when adjusted for the CPI. During this period, the Dollar was determined to be the investment vehicle that caused the most loss for its investors, at 5.65 percent when adjusted for the D-PPI and 10.95 percent when adjusted for the CPI.

HIGHEST ANNUAL REAL RETURN IN BIST 100 INDEX

When financial investment vehicles were evaluated on an annual basis, the BIST 100 index was the investment vehicle that provided the highest real return to its investors, at 44.44 percent when adjusted for the D-PPI and 29.81 percent when adjusted for the CPI. In the annual assessment, when adjusted for the D-PPI, bullion gold provided a real return of 14.76 percent, the Dollar 3.37 percent, and the Euro 2.82 percent to its investors. Deposit interest (gross) caused a loss of 26.08 percent and GDDS caused a loss of 46.01 percent for investors.

When adjusted for the CPI, while bullion gold provided a real return of 3.14 percent to its investors, the Dollar caused a loss of 7.1 percent, the Euro 7.59 percent, deposit interest (gross) 33.57 percent, and GDDS 51.48 percent for investors.
