According to TÜİK data, the number of paid employees in July increased by 1.2 percent compared to the same period last year, rising to 16 million 101 thousand 724. While employment in the industrial sector decreased, increases were recorded in the construction and trade-services sectors.

Accordingly, the number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-services sectors, which was 15 million 910 thousand 286 in July 2024, rose by 1.2 percent to 16 million 101 thousand 724 people in the same period this year.
In the month in question, the number of paid employees decreased by 3.5 percent annually in the industrial sector, while it increased by 7.7 percent in construction and 2.5 percent in trade-services.
HOW WAS THE MONTHLY CHANGE?
The total number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-services sectors recorded a 0.3 percent increase in July compared to the previous month.
During this period, the number of paid employees decreased by 0.1 percent in the industrial sector, while it showed an increase of 0.9 percent in construction and 0.3 percent in trade-services.
