The Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (Türk-İş) has decided to hold mass press conferences in front of workplaces across Turkey on Tuesday, September 24.
In a letter sent by the confederation's management to the presidencies of its affiliated unions, it was stated that the goals set forth by the government's "Medium-Term Program" contain new negative implications for those who sustain their livelihoods through wage income, noting that "Within the framework of these developments; the negative reflection of the economic and social policies currently being implemented in the country on employees; the existing injustice in income and taxes, and the continuation of difficulties in living and working conditions, reveal the necessity of bringing our rights and demands back to the agenda."
Following the regional rallies held within this scope, a new nationwide action plan is now being put into effect.
On Tuesday, Türk-İş will voice its demands by holding mass press conferences in front of workplaces before working hours.
Following the statements, workers will express their reactions with a one-hour sit-in protest.
