'FIGURE' STATEMENT FROM TÜRK-İŞ
The first statement following the 2nd meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission came from TÜRK-İş. TÜRK-İş Vice President Ramazan Ağar stated:
"There is no result at the moment. However, I anticipate that the negotiations will continue rapidly. We hope that it will conclude with an agreement in a short time. But there is no figure yet. It makes no sense to talk about whether there will be a consensus or not right now, because there is no figure on the table. We hope to come together again within this week and bring this matter to a conclusion."
A statement came from AKP Group Deputy Chairman Akbaşoğlu before the 2nd minimum wage meeting:
"Regarding the minimum wage, we will not let our workers be crushed by inflation; we will put forward a figure that will increase purchasing power. With the evaluation of the inflation rate that will emerge at the beginning of January, there will be a salary adjustment that will raise the living standards of our civil servants and retirees and increase their purchasing power" - "2024 will also bring with it an atmosphere where a new constitution will be discussed and debated. As representatives of the nation, we must take the civil, libertarian, democratic, consistent, holistic, and pluralistic constitution onto our agenda, starting and finishing it ourselves with civil will, and fulfill the promises we have made to society as all parties."
