Turkey ranks second among OECD countries in household overcrowding

Economy expert Prof. Dr. Duran Bülbül made a striking assessment regarding the effects of impoverishment in Turkey. In a post on the social media platform X, Bülbül stated that Turkey is the second-highest country after Mexico among OECD nations in terms of household overcrowding.

According to Bülbül's statement, as poverty increases in the country, low-income families are turning to living together in a single home for economic reasons. It is stated that with the deepening of crisis conditions, families are choosing to come together to share housing expenses.

The increase in housing costs and the decline in income levels in Turkey are among the factors that make living conditions difficult for households.
