Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and Moody’s have announced their credit rating assessment calendars for Turkey for 2026. These announcements follow similar disclosures previously made by Scope Ratings, Capital Intelligence, and Fitch Ratings.
S&P plans to conduct two assessments for Turkey in 2026. The first assessment will take place on April 17, 2026, and the second assessment will be held on October 16, 2026. Moody’s, meanwhile, will conduct its first assessment regarding Turkey on January 23, 2026, and will carry out its second assessment on July 24, 2026.
Turkey's credit rating has undergone various changes in the past. Moody’s did not assess Turkey's credit rating in 2023, but in 2024, it upgraded the rating from B3 to B1 and set the outlook to positive. In 2025, the rating was raised to the Ba3 level. S&P turned Turkey's outlook to positive at the end of 2023 and raised the rating from B to B+, and subsequently to the BB- level in 2024. Fitch Ratings, on the other hand, had upgraded Turkey's rating from "B+" to "BB-" in September 2024 and set the outlook as "stable." It did not make any changes in 2025.
