The regulation in question, prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.

With the regulation, maximum limits have been established for contaminants that may be present in food as a result of environmental contamination or during the production, manufacturing, processing, or storage stages of food, including the primary production stage, even though they are not intentionally added to the food.

On the other hand, for contaminants not included in the regulation but which have been shown by scientific studies to threaten food safety, food businesses will be required to take precautions under the instructions of the Ministry.
