Turkish textile companies' interest in Egypt is growing

According to a report by BirGün newspaper columnist M. Elisaay, there are more than 1,700 Turkish companies operating in Egypt, and more than 200 of them are active in the textile sector.

Rising labor costs in Turkey are directing companies toward countries where they can produce at more affordable costs. At this point, Egypt stands out as an attractive alternative for Turkish companies.

Turkish textile companies operating in Egypt gain a competitive advantage thanks to low-cost labor. However, this situation also brings with it debates over labor exploitation. It is noted that while the only thing changing in the factories are the faces of the workers, labor exploitation continues unabated.
